"In PanchaKarma the body is purified
of toxins.
PanchaKarma is considered to be the
most potent therapy for preventing imbalance."
Treat Yourself to A Day of these
Luxurious Treatments...
Usually your day includes Abhyanga,
Swedan, herbal skin treatment, Shirodhara, Nasya, and then
showering. These treatments are done with techniques, herbs,
and oils appropriate to your constitution. The purpose of
these treatments is to profoundly relax the body and mind,
improve the flow of energy by opening the srotas (channels
of circulation), and prepare the body to eliminate excess
doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) or toxins (ama) on the physical,
emotional and spiritual levels. After a few days of these
treatments, the doshas have usually "ripened"
in their sites of origin in the gastrointestinal tract and
are ready to be flushed from the system. Depending on your
dosha, you will be advised to do one of three things to
facilitate the elimination of the accumulated toxins: herbal
purgation, virechan or vamana, for which you will need to
be guided by a staff member. The treatment ends with a day
of rejuvenative therapies which include abhyanga, swedan
and basti. Post-PK therapies can also be recommended. All
PanchaKarma programs 3 or more days require a $500 deposit.

Therapy Descriptions
Abhyanga:
A soothing massage based on the body's marma (energy)
points. It stimulates circulation of lymphatic fluid,
using deeply nourishing herbalized oils to penetrate
the skin, remove deep, long-standing toxins and nourish
the tissues.
|
Swedana:
Herbalized steam bath. A profoundly calming experience.
The body is heated to remove mental, emotional &
physical toxins lodged deeply within the tissues.
Head is kept cool, providing a sense of calm &
openness so the steam can cleanse deeply without
overheating or stressing the body.
|
Bolus/Herbal Hot Compress:
Herbal hot compresses are best used in conjunction with
abyhanga and herbalized oils for deep rejuvenation of
joints and tissues.
|
Heart Dhara - Oil Treatment
for Heart, Emotions and Vascular System. Warm herbalized
oil is poured repeatedly over the heart with heart marma
point stimulation. This treatment opens subtle channels
related to the heart and emotions. Bynourishing the
heart, the emotions are strengthened and slowly and
steadily, old blocks may be released. |
Shirodara: A warm stream of herbalized
oil is gently & methodically poured onto the
forehead, synchronizing brain waves, profoundly
calming the mind/ body & emotions. Ayurvedic
eye treatment included. Heart Dhara also available as an alternative.
|
Basti: Guidance/preparation
for an herbalized enema. Cleanses and rejuvenates
the colon, enhancing elimination & nerve function.
Necessary for the healthy maintenance of the gastrointestinal
tract.
|
Marmani Chikitsa:
A deeply relaxing and rejuvenate experience, Marmani
is an extensive therapy on pressure points. It can
correct, re-direct, and open the subtle energy flows
of the body, relieving stiffness, enhancing nourishment
and cleansing of tissues, and improving mental clarity.
|
Udvartina:
Herbal powder exfoliating massage following Abhyanga
and Swedana. The massage drains lymph while pulling
toxins off of the skin that are released during
the steam bath. Rejuvenates, tones, exfoliates and
softens the skin, the body's largest organ.
|
| Mud Detox Therapy: Therapeutic-Grade
Clay and Moor Mud Packs are applied externally to draw
out deeply embedded toxins, including heavy metals (mercury),
dioxin, petrochemicals, aniline residues (from injected
anesthetics) and more. Removes hidden, deep-seated toxicity
in the ground substance of the body (i.e. the external
meridians and connective tissue) which prevents normal
nerve and "prana" flow. These embedded toxins
can mean years of delayed healing - or none at all.
For best results, use in conjunction with Abhyanga and
Bolus herbal compress, followed by electrolyte foot
bath. |
| Ayurvedic Facials: Relax
the mind while cleansing, nourishing & tonifying
the skin. The goal is to create a deep calm in mind
& body that radiates from the face. This is a transformative
& healing facial, not merely cosmetic. |

Preparing for PanchaKarma
It is best to schedule your sessions
during a time when you can rest, and eat lightly.
Light activity is acceptable, but you will want to
allow your body/schedule some flexibility. One week
before PanchaKarma you will probably be asked to take
herbs, & internal oils to help lubricate your
body & begin to mobilize toxins. You will also
need to have or have had an Ayurvedic Consultation
to assess which therapies and which herbal formulas
and oils will be most potent for you. More detailed
and specific information is sent to you upon registration.
Women will need to schedule PanchaKarma Therapies so that they don't coincide with your menstrual cycle.
$500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your space. Full payment is due 3 weeks
before the first day of therapies.
We advise you to schedule in advance, we are often booked up to two and three months in advance.
PanchaKarma is a spiritual practice of the Yogis,
not meant for treatment of any pathological conditions.
